Some of the important details are…
The Temple is facing west with a thirukulam at the front.
The Rajagopuram is of 3 tiers and Anjaneyar sannadhi is at front on road side.
Palipedam, Garudalvar and Dwajasthambam are in front of the sanctum Sanctorum.

On the left Sannadhi for Andal and  Sri Komalavalli Thayar on the right on an elevated athisdanam.

The Sanctum Sanctorum consists of a a rectangular, Arthamandapam and a Muka mandapam. In the muka mandapam stucco statues of Perumal’s 10 avatharas and a Buddha. It was believed that Buddha is another incarnation of  Perumal. The Muka mandapam was constructed during Nayak period and their official embalm may be seen on the ceiling.

Moolavar Sri Varadharaja Perumal is in a standing posture with Sridevi and Boodevi in the sanctum.

There are 9 Inscriptions of Chozha, Pandya and Vanakovaraiyars period on the walls of the sanctum. The temple was constructed by Ponparapina Vanakovaraiyar and Punniyavaati for the welfare of their family in 12th century

The story of the temple goes like this. Once this place was very fertile and people had forgotten to worship Lord Vishnu. To teach lesson Vishnu asked Varuna the god of Rain to stop in that area. People realized their fault and  prayed Vishnu. Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of dark cloud and rained. The area became like before.
