This Perumal Temple is very near to the south side entrance of the Fort and almost center of the Fort.
Iraivan : Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal.
Thayar : Sri Alarmelu Mangai.
Some of the important features of this temple are...
The temple is facing east with an entrance arch.
Garuda thoon is in front of the temple.
In the outer prakaram sanndhi for Lakshmi Narasimhar, Thayar, Andal, Chakkarathalwar, Alwars, Anjaneyar, Garudalwar, Vaishnava Andal Saba and Srimath Nammalwar Saba.
Garudalwar, Palipedam and Dwajasthambam are in the prakaram.
The sanctum sanctorium consists of Sanctum, Arthamandapam and muka mandapam.
Moolavar Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal is with Sridevi and Bhoodevi on both sides. Urchavars are at the front.
Inscriptions are at the base of the sanctum.
It was believed that the temple was constructed by Vanagamudi Ketti Mudali during 16th century. He and his brother Komarakketti Mudali are the captains of Thirumalai Nayakkar.
TEMPLE TIMINGS :
The temple will be kept open for dharshan between 10.00 Hrs to 12.00 Hrs and 17.30 Hrs to 20.00 Hrs.
